Cream Lace Dress - Forever21
Polka Dot Knee Highs - American Apparel
Light Blue Linen T Straps - Urban Outfitters
A couple of days ago, Neil and I had a day off so we spent it outside at Sevier Park walking Bloom and eating popsicles from Las Paletas (avocado and coffee!). When we got home, we grilled out and watched An Education.. and took a nap. All in all, a perfect lazy day.

As for my outfit, you've seen all of these pieces before.. but as they're kind of my favorites (especially the dress), I dug them out for a spring-themed outfit. It was HOT that day (hot being a relative term at the end of March in Nashville, and it means in the 80s), so I dressed light.

A project I worked on today was this lovely ruffle dress I bought at the flea market last weekend. I did few things to it - nothing complicated. I shortened it and used the leftover fabric for a sash at the waist. I also removed the pink gingham trim at the cuffs and found the lace sleeves had raw edges and were unfinished (I think a previous owner had cut the sleeves shorter and covered it up with the trim), so I folded them in and sewed it underneath the cuff. I doubt that's the proper way to correct a sleeve.. but it works for me.
And here's the finished product!

Now, I have a decision to make. I originally acquired this pastel smock dress with the intention of using it as my Easter dress.. but I've really fallen in love with the white one. So which one do I wear for Easter this year? Neil likes the pastel dress, and I think I like the white one a bit better. But I can't choose.

Sewing Saturday tomorrow with an update on my jumper.. Happy April!

goodness, could you two get any cuter!?
You day sounds like it was wonderful!
Both dresses are so lovely...I just don't know! The white one almost seems more Easter like to me. Though I LOVE the other one too. hummmm....
oh, and I just got finished watching An Education like two mins ago :o)
Both dresses are so cute, but I think I'm going with Neil's choice of the psatel one.
I absolutely love this outfit! Every piece is adorable, and they all look great together. I just bought those shoes in the tan color but exchanged them for sandals because I thought they'd be uncomfortable, but you're making me wish I'd switched to that color instead!
Ooh, tough call! I think I'm going to agree with Neil on this one, but I don't think you can go wrong either way :)
I'm loving your outfit - just perfect. And your puppy...oh my goodness. Adorable would be an understatement. What did you think of An Education? I still haven't seen it...

Both dresses are lovely...but there is something so perfectly Easter about the yellow and green one!
Love that F21 dress you're wearing, and love your Easter dress choices! I feel like the yellow one is more Eastery, and the white one is more all-yeary, if you get what I'm saying.
Also: PUPPY! This is all.
Pastel!
Wow you look sooo pretty in that dress I can see why it's your favorite!
Hmm the white dress is terribly cute (love the alterations you made) but I would also go for the pastel!
Mmmm those pops look so yummy! I can't wait to see what progress you've made tomorrow.
the pastel one, definitely! so cute! the white one is adorable too, but pastels are so easter-y. I'm crazy jealous of your nice weather and beautiful day. we had like one nice day on the first day of spring and since then it's been rainy and stormy all the time. I want popsicles too!
wow, both dresses are amazing! the white is gorgeous but the pastel is definitely more easter-y. such cute photos of you and your puppy! he/she is gorgeous. sounds like a perfect day!
xx
Those dresses are too dreamy! I personally love the white one, but both would look uber gorgeous one you =)
I like the pastel one, it looks like those two tone sugar eggs that you get at easter. :)
I like the pastel one best, but I love all the dresses you showed in this post! You have a wonderful collection. Happy sewing this weekend :)

You outfit is so cute! I really love that dress! The DIY job you did on the white dress is so great! But, I think you should wear the pastel one on Easter. It just seems more Eastery to me.
